I bought this ornament thinking it would be a hilarious way to prank everyone at school. I secretly tucked it into the Christmas tree while the students were decorating, then casually planted myself in the lobby to enjoy the chaos.

...and I waited.

...and waited.

Nothing.

Not a single "Is that a cat?" I was fully prepared to leave a one-star review about all the wasted prank potential.

Then... the magic happened.

A few days later at the staff Christmas party, I overheard someone ask, "Did they ever find the cat that was loose?"

Excuse me... the WHAT?!

Turns out this ornament worked a little *too* well. The janitors, the secretary, and several teachers had been leaving food and water out for the "cat," walking the halls looking for it, and even removing access panels from the walls because they were convinced it had crawled inside.

I laughed so hard I nearly confessed.

But naturally... I did the only reasonable thing. I went back to school and moved the ornament to a different hiding spot so it looked like the cat had found a new place to hide. 😂

Five stars. Would accidentally create an entire school-wide cat rescue operation again.

We pulled the tab, placed it in the tree and left.
The next day awoke to a long Facebook post from the party host the night before detailing the hunt of finding it, and swearing revenge on whomever placed it. We purchased 5, and I’m glad we did.

My kids picked this out for our best friends and we waited until after Christmas to leave it at their house. My son ended up hiding it in the bathroom. We were absolutely crying laughing when we got the phone call 🤣 this is [****]% worth it

It's a perfect joke. I laughed until I cried.

I pulled out the tape and nothing happened. After an hour, I ended up setting the ornament on the kitchen counter and 4 1/2 hours later it started chirping. By that time all my guests were gone.
