"You're Not Old, You're Retro." And the song agrees.

The cover reads "You're Not Old, You're Retro" alongside a cassette tape and headphones — affectionate, a little cheeky, and the kind of compliment that actually lands. The inside reads "Happy Birthday." And the moment they open it, a doo-wop-flavored birthday song starts playing on a loop, one warm voice serenading them like it's an old 45 record that won't lift the needle.

It's the milestone-birthday card that doesn't punch down. Calling someone "old" is easy and a little tired; calling them "retro" turns the whole joke into a compliment, then commits to it with hours of vintage-style birthday joy. The recipient will almost certainly laugh and text you "what IS this song?!" — which might even start a conversation if you haven't talked in a while. Unlike a paper card that gets read once and shelved, this one keeps serenading for hours. For any birthday that earns a little affectionate vintage swagger.

How the Endless Musical Card Works

  1. Open the card to test the sound, sign it, then close the card to stop the sample.
  2. Insert the card into the envelope and pull the tab from the spine to arm it.
  3. Once they open the card, the song loops non-stop — even if they close it — and plays for hours, until the battery dies.
  4. If they try to break the card to stop the sound, a hidden glitter trap is waiting inside.

*Plain white envelope included in all cards

Great For

  • Milestone Birthdays — 40th, 50th, 60th. The years where "old" is a touchy word and "retro" is the gift that softens it.
  • Mom or Dad — tease them about the big number without it landing wrong. "Retro" is a compliment; the nonstop singing is the actual joke.
  • Grandma or Grandpa — the era is the punchline, and they'll get it faster than anyone.
  • The Music Lover — the doo-wop cover of the birthday song is the kind of throwback they'll recognize in two notes.
  • Anyone Who's Officially "Vintage" — for the person who'd rather be called retro than old, and has earned the right to either.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign the card before it activates?

Yes. You can safely sign the card and it will play one-time. Close the card and it will stop.

How long does the song play?

Once activated, the card plays continuously for 3 to 6 hours until the internal battery dies. There is no off switch. Please note; batteries are like a sponge so if they open it again you'll get more music.

How do I activate the card?

We suggest inserting the card into the envelope first the remove the instructional tab from the spine. The moment your recipient opens the card, the song (or sound, depending on your design) starts playing automatically and won't stop until the battery dies or it's broken.

How do I stop the song?

Once activated there is no off switch. The song plays until the battery dies. Attempting to destroy the card triggers the hidden glitter (or in some cases the glitter is found when the pull strip is removed). That's the prank.

Does the card come with a Glitter Envelope

No. All cards ship with a plain white envelope. The glitter is already built inside the card itself, either hidden inside waiting to be unleashed or behind a pull-strip reveal. If you want the full glitter ambush on the outside too, we sell Glitter Trap Envelopes separately.

Don't be the fool; play the fool.
